Privacy Policy
Last updated Oct 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Illegal Motion Sports ("we," "us") collects when you use illegalmotionsports.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices and rights you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- The Huddle (community): when you join, you choose a display name, and we store the threads, replies, votes, reports and game-chat messages you post. Posts are public.
- Contact form: your name, email address, topic and message.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: like most websites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps to deliver and secure the Site.
- Hashed IP for abuse prevention: to enforce rate limits and stop spam in The Huddle and the contact form, we store a one-way, salted hash of your IP address, not the IP address itself.
- Local storage on your device: we save some preferences in your browser, such as your Huddle session token, pick'em selections, cached rankings and your cookie choice. This data stays on your device.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of essential technologies (local storage) to make the Site work. When you see our cookie banner, you can Accept or Decline non-essential cookies. You can change your choice anytime with the Cookie settings link in the footer.
Advertising cookies (Google AdSense and third parties). We use or plan to use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting:
- Google Ads Settings: https://adssettings.google.com
- How Google uses information from sites that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- Digital Advertising Alliance (opt out of many third-party vendors): https://optout.aboutads.info
- Network Advertising Initiative: https://optout.networkadvertising.org
If you decline non-essential cookies on our banner, we will request non-personalized ads only (where ads are shown).
Analytics. We use Cloudflare's privacy-focused traffic and performance data to understand how the Site is used. If we add another analytics provider (for example Google Analytics), it will only run after you accept non-essential cookies, and we will update this policy.
How we use information
- To operate the Site, The Huddle and the contact form
- To prevent spam, abuse and security incidents
- To respond to messages and requests
- To understand and improve the Site
- To show advertising that supports free content
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information with service providers that help us run the Site (such as Cloudflare for hosting, storage and security), with advertising partners as described above, when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the Site. Huddle posts are public by design.
Third-party content and links
Scores, odds and headlines come from public sources such as ESPN, and links open the original source. Third-party sites have their own privacy policies.
Data retention
Huddle content stays up until it is removed by you (on request), by moderation, or when we close the feature. Contact messages are kept for up to 12 months. Hashed IP values are kept only as long as needed for abuse prevention.
Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use and disclose
- Delete personal information we have collected from you
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, including for cross-context behavioral advertising. Use Decline in our cookie banner or the Cookie settings link. We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as an opt-out.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect sensitive personal information)
- Non-discrimination for exercising your rights
To make a request, use our contact form and choose "Privacy request." We will verify your request and respond within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent. Residents of other states with similar laws may make the same requests.
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Sports betting and paid fantasy content is intended for adults of legal age only.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and hashing of IP addresses. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
